Know What Different Dashboard Lights Mean

Your INFINITI has a variety of ways to help tell you that there is something that needs to be addressed before it becomes a significant issue. One of the easiest ways to stay on top of everything is by paying attention to your dashboard. The various lights that can click on while the vehicle is on the move are your first indicator to have something looked at by the trained technicians at Mike Ward INFINITI in Highlands Ranch, CO. From simple maintenance such as an oil change, to potentially more demanding ones such as engine overheating, your vehicle’s dashboard is how you can keep your INFINITI functioning at its peak throughout the year.

Several Examples of Lights to Look Out For

Low Fuel Indicator – Starting with a less serious light that should still be addressed, the low fuel light looks like a traditional gas pump. Even though this is a common light on all vehicles, it is important to make sure you are looking for the closest gas station when this light comes on. You are on the last couple of gallons of fuel and you don’t want to be stranded because of no fuel in the tank.

Oil-Related Issues – If a light that looks like an oil can with a drop of oil coming out appears, you could have one of several potential issues. Typically, this means that the oil pressure is low and needs to be looked at immediately to ensure nothing is leaking or that there is another problem. If you see an oil can with a wavy line underneath it, you often have a low oil level in your INFINITI and should have it refilled as soon as possible.

Engine Temperature Issue – If your vehicle’s engine is starting to overheat, you’ll see a red light that resembles a thermometer appear. If you see this light, please find the safest place to pull off the road and contact us for instructions on what to do. Running on an overheating engine can cause significant damage and should be handled by one of our knowledgeable Service Center staff.
